Functional Range Release Technique (F.R.®)
Functional Range Release technique is an advanced system of soft-tissue treatment based in the principles of typical myofascial release techniques (Active Release), but with multiple improvements. Functional Range Release technique, or FR® Release is advanced, and comprehensive. It is a system of soft tissue assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation used by some of the most highly regarded manual therapists around the world.
The treatment system focuses on specific muscle palpation and the assessment, localization, and systematic treatment of soft-tissue lesions (adhesions) and areas of fibrosis (scar tissue) which develop as a result of injury, repetitive strain, and cumulative trauma.
FR will teach your nervous system how to maximally recruit muscle, decrease the onset of muscular inhibition and wasting that occurs post injury and improve neural drive to inhibited muscular tissue. All of these effects will allow your body to expand the range of motion in which forces can be generated (ie. expand the functional range). Typical active release only focus on restoring previous motion. FR focuses on expanding and strengthening new ranges.
Functional Range Conditioning (F.R.C.™)
FRC® is a comprehensive joint training system based in scientific principals and research. Simply put, this is a system of training and exercise which simultaneously expands and strengthens range of motion across your joints, while teaching you body how to incorporate new ranges of motion into your daily functioning. FRC® allows patients to maintain the health of their joints by Mobility Development, Joint Strength and Body Control.
